Junior B Championship Quarter Final
Blackhall Gaels 4-11
Navan O’Mahonys 5-13
It wasn’t to be for our Senior Ladies in the Junior B Championship quarter final, but the girls gave it everything right to the final whistle.
Playing against a strong breeze in the first half, the girls went in at the break two goals down. The response after half time was excellent, with the girls battling their way back into the game and cutting the gap to just two points. With the momentum building, they kept pushing, but a late goal for Navan O’Mahonys put the result beyond reach and brought our championship campaign to an end.
There was great effort right across the pitch, with the girls well supported by the players on the bench and the supporters who travelled to cheer them on.
Although the championship is over for this year, there is plenty for this group to be proud of. The progress made throughout the season has been great to see, both in the football and in the way the team has come together. The opportunities given to our younger players within the senior setup have also been a real positive and give us plenty to look forward to in the seasons ahead.
A big thank you to the management team and everyone who helped and supported the ladies throughout the year. We are also very grateful to Glenveagh, our team sponsor, for their continued support of the team.
A special mention to our captain, Ava Lambert, for her leadership and commitment throughout the season. Ava has led by example, on and off the pitch, and has been a fantastic captain for this group.
Finally, to all the players, well done on the season you have put in. You represented Blackhall Gaels with great heart, fought until the end and showed what this group is all about. You can be proud of what you have achieved together. 💙💛
