🏐 Junior B Championship – Round 2 Result
Moylagh 5-15
Blackhall Gaels 4-13
Our Senior Ladies came up just short against Moylagh in Round 2 of the Junior B Championship on Sunday afternoon.
The game began with a minute’s silence in memory of the grandfather of our senior player Sinead Melville, who sadly passed away Saturday night. Our thoughts are with Sinead and all her family at this difficult time. 💙
From the opening whistle, there were battles all over the pitch, with both teams giving everything. Blackhall Gaels registered the first score and the sides traded points through the early stages. Moylagh edged ahead approaching half-time, but the BHGs continued to push and stayed right in the game.
The second half was every bit as competitive, with some excellent passages of football and huge effort from the girls keeping the game in the balance right up to the final whistle.
The result may not have gone our way, but there were plenty of positives to take, not least the fantastic commitment shown by the 25 players who travelled today.
A special mention to our eight U16 players, all of whom stepped up and made a real contribution to the Senior team. It’s fantastic to see our younger players getting the opportunity to compete at this level and they can be very proud of their performances today. 👏
Our final group game is now just two weeks away, with a win needed to progress.
