Last Saturday, May 9th, Blackhall Gaels was proud to host a fantastic morning in Batterstown as our Blackhall Bees Nursery, U9 Camogie Blitz, Ladies Camogie and LGFA training, Bake Sale, Swap Shop and Green Club Awareness Stall all came together in beautiful sunshine.
From 9am to 12pm the pitch was buzzing with activity, laughter and community spirit as families, players, volunteers and supporters enjoyed a wonderful morning together.
A huge thank you to all of the morning’s helpers who ensured everything ran so smoothly throughout the event. In particular, we are extremely grateful to Liam Keane for his guidance, expertise and stewardship on the morning, helping to ensure everyone could arrive, park and leave the grounds safely.
We were delighted to welcome local baker Molly McGowan of @MadeByMolly whose delicious treats were a huge hit with everyone attending and showcased the fantastic talent within our club community.
A special thank you also to Kate Daly and Philip McCormack who represented both the Batterstown Enhancement Committee and the Blackhall Gaels Green Club Committee throughout the morning, promoting sustainability initiatives including the newly operational water station in Batterstown encouraging the use of reusable bottles at the pitch. Philip also displayed some beautiful wooden crafts made from recycled timber.
Our U9 Camogie girls played brilliant camogie against Ashbourne and Trim, showing fantastic skill, teamwork and determination. Thank you also to our young whistlers Mia McCann and Eabha McIver for their brilliant support and encouragement throughout the morning.
Finally, thank you to our Nursery coaches and helpers who continue to make Saturday mornings so special for our Blackhall Bees and to everyone who supported such a positive community event.
