Club History

Blackhall Gaels GAA Club was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of the Kilcloon and Batterstown Junior clubs. The club is a dual club and promotes both hurling and football along with Camogie and Ladies Football in the parish. In 2024 Blackhall will field Senior Hurling, Intermediate Football, Senior B Camogie with a Junior Ladies football team.

Football honours include 1998 and 2001 Intermediate champions, 2003 Senior champions, 2001 and 2008 Junior C champions and 2005 Junior D champions. The Club won underage finals in all grades in football.

Hurling honours include 2002 Junior Hurling and U16 Champions, 2003 All Ireland Féile Div 4 Champions, 2004 Minor Champions, 2005 intermediate champions, 2006 U21 Champions, 2012 U21 B and Minor B Champions as Blackhall/Drumree, 2013 was a standout year for Blackhall Gaels as they claimed the Intermediate Hurling championship along with the Division 2 League.

Blackhall Gaels Captured the 2008 Senior Camogie Championship and in 2022 we won our first Senior B Camogie Championship, The Kay Troy Memorial Cup.
