The Blackhall Gaels ladies travelled to the home of Wolfe Tones in what turn out to be a fantastic second round of league.

This game showed real testament to what this Blackhall team can really achieve by scoring an impressive 1-8 in the starting minutes. From the throw in, Blackhall made it clear that this game was theirs for the taking, with an impressive midfield display from Kate Murphy. The interplay between Ann Murphy, Suzanne Kelly and Leona Nestor was something to be admired leading to a number of impressive scores from the forward line. Wolfe Tones fought back with the team scoring a late goal just before half time not before Lisa Kelly shot one in the back of their net.
The second half was mainly dominated by Blackhall with an outstanding performance from Clair Joyce, excelling in corner back. The speed and support that was provided by Grainne Ryan made it hard for the Wolfe Tone forwards to get past our strong defence. Wolfe Tones fought back after being awarded a penalty just before full time but unfortunately it was not enough catch Blackhall’s strong lead.
