Blackhall headed to Trim to face Killyon on Saturday in the Hurling Championship. A must win game for the lads. Unfortunately, Killyon felt it was a must win for them as well. Killyon started strong, popping over a few early scores. A quick goal had them ahead, clearly in the driving seat. Blackhall finally got going, cutting down the Killyon lead but by bit until they went ahead. Three sores from placed balls saw Blackhall two ahead at the break, praying it stayed that way. Halftime saw the score at 1-5 to 0-10.
Killyon were first out of the traps at the restart, showing just how up for the match they were. They went ahead and stayed there. Blackhall fell apart in the second half, losing all shape and conviction. By the end, Killyon ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-13. Only scoring three points in 30 minutes will rarely win a game, but conceding 1-14 definitely will not. A bad day at the office for the lads and plenty of work to do before facing Boardsmill on Saturday 17th.
